SWPBS

PBS stands for Positive Behavior Support. Originally it was to teach us about our school values and how to use them, but it has grown to so much more than that!

Today we learn about things connected to our values, excellence, resilience and respect. We branch off to more specific things we will need in our life instead of being broad and it helps quite much!

Right now the seniors are learning about gender stereotypes and how to treat people with equality such as prejudice which means to pre-judge someone, that isn’t right to judge someone before you meet them. The middles have been learning about the circle of control with things you can control inside the circle and things you can’t outside the circle e.g. inside circle: yourself and your actions, outside circle: others, weather,

PBS is a fun activity everyone can enjoy because it’s practical and helps you further on in life. Preps have been learning about being 5-star learners in the yard and in the classroom, each star is a trait, contributes, concentrates, collaborates and cooperates, commits, communicates clearly. 5 things to be 5-star learner our preps love getting feathers they collect their feathers in a tally, bring the feathers down and do their own bird report! How amazing!

Celebration Days

We use feathers to build up to a celebration day which is an acknowledgement to us showing our school values and we can appreciate ourselves for what we’ve done. Celebration day categories are picked by our SRC’s then a vote is taken to each class they tally up votes and get an answer for which celebration day we will do.

This term we had celebrated with a "Come in Comfy Clothes or PJs" Day. It was great fun!
