Year 8 Pastoral days

By the time this newsletter is received the last of the Year 8 pastoral days will have been completed. All eight house groups had the opportunity to actively engage in the Mt Coot-tha Kokoda challenge which offers an opportunity for team building within the house, group and personal decision making along with leadership activities whilst challenging the students in a physical environment. As always, thank you to the staff who went along with students and helped in the running of the activities, to provide an opportunity for the students to grow in these important life skills.

Year 11 Brent Sanders Consent Presentation

Today the Year 11s spent time listening to Mr Brent Sanders, a person with experience as a federal police officer who has spent many years working in the area of consent from a legal and policing perspective. Brent is an engaging speaker who delivers on the topic of making mistakes, taking responsibility and owning them, drawing on his own experiences when a young man. He follows this with a serious discussion on consent and what he has seen as common mistakes made by young men, in the area of consent and the law.

This presentation supports the work the College is doing with students through our ASH program in the area of respectful relationships and consent.
