ArtFest 2015

An Inspiring and Exciting Exhibition
Artfest 2015 has been yet another inspiring and exciting exhibition that celebrates the hard work, dedication and creative prowess of our incredibly talented students from Year 7 through to Year 12. Our dedicated art teachers are immensely proud of the work students have produced, as are the students of having their work on exhibition.
Huge crowds attended opening night, where food and drinks were served and the flute ensemble serenaded the audience as they viewed the works. It was a pleasure to have our Principal John Albiston present over 25 awards, including three awards from our sponsor Harcourts, to students who excelled in their area of study.
Shining through in the exhibition this year is the vibrancy and imagination of our junior school art students. The specialist skills and knowledge students learn in the Middle School electives, informed by the practice of contemporary artists, was really highlighted in their finished artworks. And the hard work, dedication and independent exploration of ideas from our talented VCE students were truly celebrated.
VCE Art student India Coghlan inspired the audience with her encouraging words of wisdom as she spoke so passionately about the importance of studying art and following your passions. We hope this resonated with the students and inspires them to pursue their interests and talents in the visual arts field.
Thank you to all students, staff and volunteers that made the event such a success.
