Environmental Club Material Drive

We are looking for old doona covers, pillowcases, t-shirts and any old pieces of fabric to be donated to the Doncaster Environmental Club for repurposing into Boomerang Bags.

A Boomerang Bag is a tote bag made up of recycled material so as to prevent usable fabric from contributing to the growing landfill.

The fabric donated must be a minimum size of 33cm by 33cm and must be clean. Any fabric can be donated can be deposited in boxes located in the front office and at W Block office between 10 March and Thursday 6 April.

If you wish to participate in making these bags, feel free to join the Environmental Club in B3 during Thursday lunchtimes.

Jumping for Gold

Congratulations to Year 10 student, Finlay B., and her thoroughbred horse, Red Velvet, for making it to the 2023 PETstock Equestrian Interschool State Championships! Her outstanding results at the Interschools Victoria Equestrian qualifier at Boneo Equestrian Park mean that Finlay will be representing DSC at the state's best competition for young equestrians.

Taking place over the upcoming Easter school holidays, the Equestrian Victoria Interschool State Championships is a highly competitive, premier event. Finlay and Red Velvet will be competing against very elite and expensive performance horses, ridden by the top private schools. It will be the ultimate David versus Goliath match! But, as we all know, that's when DSC students step up, unflinchingly, and give it their best shot!

On behalf of our school community, we wish Finlay and Red Velvet the best of success as they compete in the Showjumping and Dressage disciplines at the State Championships.

Mid Day Melodies

The College Quadrangle has become a music hot spot lately. Earlier this term, our Music department donated an old-style piano along the breezeway. Students (and teachers) have relished the opportunity to practice their skills and play a few tunes in between classes. It has been lovely to enjoy the sounds of Beethoven in between bites of a lunchtime sanga!

Bullying and Coercion

eSafety for Kids

Cool Australia is an organisation that enables parents and teachers to empower young people with the skills to help tackle our greatest challenges. They have released a 10-part education series on eSafety, which we will share with our families over the course of the year.  Unit 1 is on Bullying and Coercion.
