YEAR 7 ROSES GAP CAMP

Roses Gap Camp

FLOURISH:  The other week, our wonderful Year 7 students headed off to Roses Gap Camp, located in beautiful Grampians.

The students really enjoyed their time away, engaging in a wide variety of fun outdoor activities, e.g. abseiling, rock climbing, flying fox, a giant swing, the vertical playpen (which is a massive climbing challenge, the pamper pole and crate stack.

There were also great water activities where our students went canoeing on the lake, as well as teams designing rafts that would keep their paddlers afloat, as they make their way across to the lakes central island and back to the shore.

On the ground, they tested their skills on the low ropes and also learned the proper safe handling, loading and firing techniques of archery.  Our students also built huts in a secluded spot in small groups using only natural materials.

Our students really  stepped out of their comfort zone in a stunning setting, as well as learning to get creative with great teamwork and connecting with their peers.  Sounds like they had amazing adventures!
