Q-Lit: Queer Victorian Festival of Words

There is a new LGBTQIA+ literary festival, Q-Lit: Queer Victorian Festival of Words.  We are coming to the Geelong Regional Library and Heritage Centre on Sat April 1 and would love to see as many Geelong students as possible at our events.  Our program has something for all ages, from primary to secondary students (and adults too!).  As you can see, we are so lucky to have renowned children’s author and illustrator Leigh Hobbs headlining our Geelong event! All welcome – queer and questioning folks, friends and allies. This is a free event, but we need people to book via the website, as places are filling fast. Hope to see you there : )

Behind the Scenes

Joanna Werner is an award-winning TV Producer, behind popular teen television series such as Dance Academy, Crazy Fun Park and Surviving Summer (filmed locally on the Surf Coast).  She’ll be running a session at Torquay Library for young people that will give an insight into what goes on behind the scenes of some popular teen series. The session will appeal to young people that have an interest in film, drama and media, or anyone who is generally curious about how a show is produced. It will give students the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about careers within the industry.

The event is called Behind The Scenes and is after school on Wednesday April 5th 4:30 – 5:30pm at Torquay Library. It is open for bookings here
