From the Senior School

The Hamilton and Alexandra College Acting Principal - Miss Kristen Waldron

I am pleased to share with you some quick updates from our school.

NAPLAN testing has begun for our students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. This year, the testing has started earlier than usual, allowing for results to be distributed to families sooner. We hope that this will provide you with valuable insights into your child's learning progress.

Our annual House Athletics carnival was held last week and our new format allowed all students to participate in every event. It was fantastic to see the school community come together to support each other! Congratulations to all our students for their efforts on the day and well done to Berry House winning both the Girls’, Boys’ and Grand Aggregate.

Our staff are currently generating reports for each student, which will provide you with important information about your child's academic progress, as well as their social and emotional development. We encourage you to take the time to read through these reports and discuss them with your child.

Our Community Relations team has been busy attending several events, including the Wimmera and Lucindale Field Days. We have also held an online boarding community meeting with families and a South Australian parent drinks event. These events have provided us with valuable opportunities to connect with families and showcase our connected school community.

Finally, our Head of Year 9 Experience, Mrs Emily Hausler officially launched our 2023 Micah program to families this week, which will provide our students with a range of exciting opportunities to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the wider community.

As always, we are committed to providing the best possible education for our students and we appreciate your ongoing support.

Miss Kristen Waldron
