My Dangerous Walk to School

As our beautiful school now exceeds 1200 students and steadily grows stronger and more vibrant, our concerns for the safety of students travelling to and from school also increases. With more than 50% of students doing what our politicians and local leaders advocate, travelling via active transport, we worry that the infrastructure of our suburb is not fit for purpose. Our parents and school leadership have invested time in lobbying for safer access to schools, which has resulted in some wins with crossing guards on Bell Street and a pedestrian crossing on Pentridge Boulevard, but also with much work needing to be done. Please see Dave Hall's new video on the dangers of the Bell St. Bridge and support the call for the State Government to adhere to its own safety and design standards, which this bridge does not meet.
