Interschool Sport

Interschool sport has been in full swing to start the year with teams going out each day of competition from Year 9 through to Year12.

Senior Cricket

On a hot Thursday, our senior cricket team went off to Batterham reserve to play cricket. We were to have three games, consisting of 10 overs per innings. The schools we were to play included Rowville, Upwey and Wantirna.  Out of our school most players it as there first time.

Our first game we played Rowville. We batted first however we didn’t score many runs. Rowville showed there skill and chased it down very quick, they were clearly the dominant team. Our next game we once again batted first with Sustina and Iasintaopening the batting.

They gave it a good go however they both got caught which was unlucky. Kaiden and Luke put on a good partnership, with Kaiden hitting 2 sixes and Luke scoring nice boundaries. That game we ended up scoring approximately 60 runs, it was a great effort and we only lost a couple wickets. Our last game we played Wantirna, they were very good and we struggled to score against them. In the end, we unfortunately didn’t win any of our games but was great that everyone put in a big effort to play.

Intermediate Cricket

Intermediate crickets took place at Batterham reserve on Thursday 2 March, with Scoresby fielding a team of 15 boys across Years 9 and 10. Competition was tough with the team competing against Upwey, Rowville East, Rowville West and Wantirna across the day.

Each match saw improvements made by the team with strong Captaincy of Noah Paroissien 10B. Stats across the day for top wicket takers include Black Fricke with 4 wickets including a caught and bowled, Jack Harper  and Sam Dunbar  with 3 wickets each and our top run scorers were Blake Fricke, Noah Paroissien and Cooper Tudor .

Unfortunately we did not come away with a win, however getting close to Wantirna losing by 7 runs. Congratulation to the team on your efforts and the way in which you represented the college.
