Election Cake Stall

Melbourne finally turned on some good weather for us last Saturday, helping to make our election day cake stall a success.  There’s a lot of work behind the scenes to make it all happen, but a big thanks must go to all the parents and students who baked cakes, biscuits and slices for the stall.

The Year 6 students had a competition to encourage everyone to bake: if 95% of students brought in a cake or plate of goodies, then Friday afternoon would be filled with fun games and activities.  It was fantastic to watch the Year 6 students proudly carry their plates down the corridor to the packing room.  I’m sure they all enjoyed their Friday afternoon.

Thanks must also go to all the volunteers who packaged and priced the cakes and biscuits on the Friday.  It’s amazing what can be achieved with clear plastic and curled ribbon.  Our cake stall looked beautiful on Saturday morning and it enticed many people over to buy.  By 10.30am, all the big cakes had been sold.  The individual cakes and slices were more popular with the lunchtime crowd, who wanted something sweet after their sausage in bread.

And finally, to everyone who manned the Cake and BBQ stalls on Saturday, a huge thanks for giving up your time to help out the school.  Overall, we raised over $2800, which will be put to good use in furnishing our new building next year.

For Sale

We still have a few Terrariums available which would make great Christmas gifts.  They are $12 each and are available to purchase from the office.
