Topsy Smith House Triumphs

TRIUMPHANT TOPSY TALENT

Congratulations to every Topsy Smith student who contributed to our second consecutive Anderson Trophy in 2021. The Anderson Trophy is awarded to the House that achieves greatest success throughout all sports carnivals and House sport tournaments.

We competed valiantly in the Swimming Carnival against some incredibly strong competitors from rival Houses.

  • Levi and Yale Smith shone for the purple haze while we had many other fantastic efforts on the day, these included:
    • Blake Ashton flexing his muscle in the short course
    • Austin Shaw giving it his all in the outdoor pool whilst
    • Rania Shelford, Maia Frearson, Lexie Creeper and Kite Quilty performed honourably in multiple events.
    • We finished 4th.

The Cross Country Carnival was decided by 1 point as we edged out Partridge to claim the shield.

  • Nicholas Boffa starred for Topsy with a blistering time on a warm day in the Red Centre.
  • Kite Quilty and Max Duffell also finished first in their respective year levels which was a phenomenal achievement. They were supported strongly by brilliant top 5 finishes from:
    • Acacia Tipene, Maia Frearson, Hannah Jacob, Ryan James, Arthur Hemmes, Yale Smith, Levi Smith, Keira Pengilly, Lara Espie, Thea Wischusen & Archie Donohoe.
    • Others who performed excellently, finishing in the top 10 were:
      • Fraser Russell, Anna Pearce, Charlie Duffell, Jamie Chapman, Austin Shaw, Mark Pearce, Baxter Donohoe, Tynan Dhanji, George Habib & Charlotte O’Neill.
      • Everybody who participated on this amazingly successful day did the House proud and helped establish a winning culture within Topsy Smith.
      • We finished 1st.

The Athletics Carnival shaped to be incredibly exciting with some new talent joining Topsy Smith’s ranks. This day saw us shine in the relays, do our best in everything we attempted, and embody admirable spirit for one another. An incredible team achievement with flashes of individual brilliance.

We bid you adieu though endeavour to go for the threepeat. Stay amazing over the holidays and we look forward to another exciting year ahead of us in 2022.
