Principal's Message

Aspire ~ Celebrate ~ Reflect

Dear Parents,

We come to the end of another school year and at this time we reflect on what we have achieved, what we could improve and what our goals for 2022 will be.

Appropriately our theme for this year, was Aspire | Celebrate | Reflect. At different times this year we have had cause to do all three.

Covid-19 continued to cause headaches and heartache for many, and mandates were introduced which impacted us all. I truly hope that if you have the intention to travel this Christmas/New Year you are abe to do so safely and can spend time with loved ones.

This week we celebrated our students' achievements with the Middle School and Senior School assemblies and I congratulate everyone on Striving, Seeking and Caring in 2021.

This week we also said farewell to students and staff who are moving intrastate or interstate. I'd like to thank everyone for your contribution to the St Philip's community and we wish you all the best for the future. Remember, 'Once an Old Saint, Always an Old Saint'.

I'd like to take this opportunity to pay a special mention to Mr Garry Bentley who has been at the College for 27 years and will be retiring this year. Many of you will know Garry in his long-term role as Head of McKay House or as the founder and coach of the Bentley Bombers. Garry has been witness to many changes here at the College and we thank him for his dedication, loyalty and contribution to the culture of the College and we wish him every happiness in his well deserved retirement.

I would also like to pay special mention to Deputy Principal, Middle School - Mr Tony Knott who has accepted a position in Queensland. We wish Tony, Emily and the boys all the very best for the future and thank them also for their contribution to the College.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Thank you and Be Kind Always,

~ Mr Roger Herbert
