Out of School Care

Before School Care

Before School Care takes place in the school Library and is supervised by a staff member between 8am and 8:30. After 8:30am students will be supervised by either a staff member on the lower or in their classrooms. 

Booking Options

Families can book a regular space, a permanent space or arrive casually with no booking.

Bookings can be made through the office. 

Billing

All incurred fees need to be paid in advance. 

This is made possible by the use of CDF pay. 

Fee structure per child

Permanent Term booking = $100 A slot is held for your child every day of the Term.

Permanent Week booking = $10

A slot is held for your child every day of the Week.

Casual Day with no booking = $5 per day

Your child arrives before 8:30. Families in this circumstance will receive a letter requesting payment of the casual day fee if no arrangements have been made and your child has 

arrived early on a regular basis 

As a school we completely understand that, at times there are extraordinary reasons for arriving early and we can accommodate these special circumstances. On these occasions families will not be billed. This structure is being put in place to help our  families who need extra help with before school care. 

St Monica's YMCA After School Program

If your child needs quality care outside school hours, is between five and 12 years old, and enrolled in primary school – they will love YMCA Before and After School Programs.

About us

We're proud to be part of the St Monica's School community in Kangaroo Flat, Victoria – where we offer YMCA After School Programs (also known as Outside School Hours Care). This service is run by YMCA Children's Programs – part of YMCA Victoria.

Our Before and After School Programs are designed to complement your child’s school learning through activities and socialising. Your child and family can experience the following benefits from being enrolled in our Before and After School Programs:

• flexibility and support for families
• enhanced emotional intelligence
• improved cognitive development through activities.

We look forward to working with the children, parents and staff of St Monica's School to deliver a high-quality program that your children love as much as we do.

Activities

Our Before and After School Programs offer:

• arts and crafts;
• board games and puzzles;
• cooking;
• creative and expressive arts such as drama, singing and dancing;
• homework time;
• gardening and recycling;
• sports, ball games and team games.

We also provide healthy and delicious snacks, with breakfast being served in the morning, and afternoon tea after school.

Co-located programs

The Y also offers the following services at the same location:

• Kangaroo Flat YMCA School Holiday Program
• care on curriculum days / pupil free days

Inclusion

We believe in an inclusive society for all children and families. Children with additional needs are welcome to attend our program. Families should contact the OSHC Coordinator beforehand to discuss your child's needs. Find out more about inclusion at YMCA Children's Programs.

Session times

To accommodate our families, we offer the following care on school days:

• After School Care: 15:00 to 18:00

Safeguarding and quality standards

At the Y, our highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of your child. We are an accredited child-safe organisation with safeguarding and quality standards embedded across all our services.

Prices and subsidies

To support our families, we offer two types of bookings:

• permanent bookings
• casual bookings

The table below lists the 2021 daily programming costs for St Monica's YMCA Before and After School Program.

These costs come into effect on Monday 8 February 2020. 

Our programs qualify for the Federal Government's Child Care Subsidy. The Child Care Subsidy helps eligible families access approved and registered child care providers, by partially subsidising the cost of daily fees. Please note, the prices above do not include any child care subsidy you may be entitled to, which could significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expense.

Bookings and enquiries

Enrolments and bookings are managed through an online system called My Family Lounge.
