Changes to Presentation Night 2021

Once again, we have made the difficult decision to change our usual format for Presentation Night this year. In 2019, we held our Presentation Night at Plaza Ballroom which was a poignant way to recognise and celebrate student achievement in a variety of areas.

Despite the improving trend in Victoria regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the latest Operations Guide released by the Department of Education and Training still places restrictions on events with density limits. For this reason, we have decided to run an End of Year Assembly for each year level across 7-11 to celebrate the awards that are presented on this special occasion (similar to how it was run in 2020).

How will it work?

Year Level Leaders have arranged for their End of Year Assembly to occur sometime over the next 2 weeks. Students who are receiving an award will be notified by email. As per usual practice, they won’t know which award they are receiving. They will be asked to come to the library and watch the assembly presentation from there. When their name is called out, they will come up the front and receive their award in a COVID-safe way, to be applauded by their peers who will be watching from their classrooms through Microsoft Teams.

How can I watch the End of Year Assemblies?

The assembly will be filmed and a copy of the presentation will be made available to parents and dignitaries after the event. We hope to make all presentations available by Friday 10th December, to watch at a time that is convenient to you. We sincerely hope that this is the last year that we run our Presentation Night in this format, as we look forward to a time when all members of the community - staff, students, parents and special guests - can come together and celebrate our students. Kind regards, Rachel Robertson(Acting Assistant Principal Years 7 and 8)
