From the School Council President

Dear Students, Staff, Parents and members of our MGC community,

I am delighted to be able to advise you on behalf of the MGC School council that we have appointed a new Principal for MGC.   Tamara (Tamy) Stubley  has been provisionally appointed to commence at the start of Term 1 2022. Her appointment  will be confirmed in 14 days when the Merit Protection Board advises the outcome of the legislated review process (this is the process that is followed for all principal appointments).

Tamy has been  the Campus Principal at the Bayview Campus of Williamstown High since 2014 and spent 7 months as the Acting Principal at Surfcoast Secondary College in 2020.   Tamy is really excited at the opportunity that MGC will give her to help empower our students . Whilst she does not start the role officially until 2022 she is super keen to get to know the school and all of us in the MGC community and will start the handover process with Andrew and the Principal team.

The School Council is convinced that Tamy will continue the strong culture of the school and all of the things that make MGC unique.  She will be a fierce advocate for our students and staff and I look forward to you all getting to know her early in 2022.

I would like to thank the Principal selection committee and the school council  for their work over this process, it is a rigorous process designed to ensure that we achieve the best outcome in our selection of principal and I am confident that we have done so.   I would also like to thank Andrew Arney and the principal team and all of the MGC staff for their work over 2021 (and 2020), I know that it has not been an easy time and we are very grateful for their leadership and care over the past year.
