Junior School Speech Day

We are happy to confirm that the updated Victorian Department of Education and Training have been released and we can now invite parents to attend the 2021 Junior School Speech Day onsite on Monday 6 December.  Our wonderful Chamber Singers, Prep/Year 1/Year 2 Performance Arts Choir and Pizzicato Strings will be performing on the day. The event will also be recorded and shared via a link.

For parents attending, please arrive at the Senior School Simons Auditorium at 12.15pm. You will be required to QR code on arrival and show that you are fully vaccinated before entering the auditorium. Masks must be worn inside at College. Year Six parents are welcome to return to Myrniong after the Speech Day formalities to take photographs with their children and friends.

A Touch of Blue

Well done to Head of Laidlaw House Miss Sophie Ross and Laidlaw Captains Phoebe Alexander and Will Satchell for their collective efforts in running the ‘Touch of Blue’ fundraiser.  $187.00 was raised and has been donated to a mental health charity.

Junior School Semester Two Reports

Semester Two reports will be released to parents via PAM (Parental Access Module) next Wednesday at 4.00pm. We will also send home a courtesy hardcopy. Whilst we have had a truncated Term Three and Four, classroom teachers and specialist staff have done an excellent job of tracking the student’s progress and documenting their learning.

College Combined Christmas Service

Next Tuesday, 7 December, the whole College Christmas Service will take place in the Simons Auditorium. The Junior School Chamber Singers and Prep, Year 1 & Year 2 Performance Arts Choir will contribute to the excellent programme. The Service will be streamed live.

Preps Join in Tennis Australia Initiative

Last week, our lucky Prep class was fortunate to be selected to participate in an online meeting with John Fitzgerald who ‘virtually’ chatted to the students and then presented them with their very own tennis racquet to keep.  This initiative run by Tennis Australia and the ANZ bank complements our Into to tennis, JS Hot Shots program.  Students loved receiving their racquets and will hopefully get lots of use out of them over the upcoming summer break.

Starting sport early, and trying new things is a great way for children to be happy and healthy!
