Principal's Message

Dear Parents, students and the wider community,

On Monday 29th November our Foundation 2022 and their families shared our annual Teddy Bear's Picnic in the Park. It was a hot day but most families were in attendance and it gave the families, students and staff a chance to get to know each other. Thank you to Mrs Winduss, Miss Holmes and Miss Eagling for organising this.

On Tuesday 30th November a number of our Year 3 students received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. As the students were reminded, this is a sacrament that can be received many times over! Fr Martin spent some individual time with each student and the students were very well prepared, so well done to the adults who were responsible for this. Thank you Fr Martin!

Also on Tuesday our Year 3/4 classes lead a level Mass and we celebrated the second Sunday of Advent both then and in our weekly Advent Liturgy in the hall on Wednesday afternoon. Our beautiful, reflective time of waiting and preparation continues!

Today our instrumental music providers 'Kids on Key' provided some mini concerts in the classes of the students who take part in these extra- curricula lessons. I'm sure all of the students felt both very nervous and proud of performing before their peers. Well done to you all!

Tomorrow, Friday 3rd December, is a massive day for our students with House Athletics in the first block and our annual Lapathon in the second block. This is to assist our local chapter of St Vincent de Paul raise funds towards supporting those in need for Christmas. In the afternoon the children will do some Jump Rope for Heart activities. I think we should all pray for a nice, clear day!

Next week is again a massive week in terms of events within the school as we race towards the end of the school year. On Monday we will hear the Leaders' speeches for 2022. The Year 3-6 students will then vote for who they would like from our current Year 5 students to be our leaders for 2022.

On Tuesday 7th December our Year 3-5 students will be attending Funtopia in Carrum Downs. I trust they find this adds some excitement to the second last week of a school year that has been again incredibly challenging.

Next Thursday night is our Christmas Concert which will begin sharply at 6pm. The students will perform on the new front deck near the hall and the asphalt area is available for families to bring in their camping chairs and set up. We will need to have families QR code to attend on arrival and of course sadly this event will be weather dependent. Fingers crossed for a beautiful evening. You may like to bring some snacks but please no alcohol as any event that has students present must be alcohol-free. Please supervise your children to ensure they are not on the playground equipment while other classes are trying to perform.

God Bless You All
