F-2 Resource Share

With the school holidays just around the corner, we thought we would share some IT resources that are used in the junior classrooms that can also be utilised at home.


Storyline Online is a free resource that features celebrated actors reading children’s stories aloud. Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading and writing skills, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading. This resource is used in our classrooms for whole class read aloud sessions and during Literacy Workshops. Students listen to stories and respond to them in different ways. Smiling Mind is a free mindfulness and meditation app that is used regularly classrooms across the school. Practising mindfulness improves concentration, reduces worries and anxiety, creates a sense of calm, supports children in regulating emotions and can improve sleep. An online resource that gives children the opportunity to learn online, through safe, fun and engaging games and activities. There are a variety of Literacy and Numeracy games and activities to choose from for different age levels. This resource is often used in classrooms for whole class activities and independent learning tasks. For more information, click on the link below:
