What is the Culture at AFA?

When I think about the culture at AFA I think of dedicated staff who work hard and who put in many hours at schooI and at home. We do our best to ensure our scholars feel supported and are ready to learn. I think of our staff who come in extra early to prepare and get ready for the day and those who stay late to get ready for the next day. I also see our strength in team work and owning up to our mistakes and working on making things better. We enjoy greeting each other and catching up although we may not have much time in our day to do so. We have a strong sense of school pride!

Some ways we can continue to grow as a school is to assume positive intent and when in doubt let's ask questions to those who may hold the answers. Let's continue to speak our truth in a constructive way that will help lift each other up. Let's encourage each other to speak directly to our teammates with whom we have a question or concern. By speaking directly to each other we can avoid conversations about others that without the facts can be more damaging than good.  With our recent Needs Assessment we heard the areas we will focus on, let's hold each other accountable!
