Boarding 

We had a fantastic Friendship Friday to finish off Wellness Week. Amy and Gabbi invited the Year 12 Macdonald girls to our house for a very enjoyable brekky shared together. I’m not sure if Amy or the Year 12s enjoyed it more, but it was a really nice way to start the day. I’m already looking forward to firing up the Weber BBQ for the Year 12 boys.

College Has Got Talent was the final event of Wellness Week, although I think that next year it will have to be renamed Boarders Have Talent. It was wonderful to see so many boarders perform on the night and they all deserve a mention. A special congratulations to Jarman for all his hard work over the years and his amazing opening and closing performances. Toby and Georgia stepped up as Captains and led the Boarders’ Band beautifully. Lily, Claudia and their backup dancers should feel a little ripped off as they were heavy favourites to take out the win after their early performance. Alannah Sander sang one of her own songs which got everyone dancing, and the performances from Jerry, Gordon and Sky and Celine and Siena just made the night even more special. Congratulations to all of these boarders and for all those who attended and helped raise money for a wonderful cause.

Congratulations to the College Magpies who won their Grand Final on Friday night. It was a big night for Fergus Roberts who kicked 5 goals and was named best on ground. What a fantastic achievement!

Congratulations also go to Phoebe Russell for her selection in the Under 13s State Hockey side. She is an exciting young talent who will represent the boarders and College proudly.

Gabbi has been away this week for a two-day Duty of Care Conference in Melbourne. We are blessed to have such amazing staff here and it’s great to see them taking advantage of the most relevant and up-to-date training available to boarding staff. I look forward to Gabbi reporting back to us about the conference.

It is never easy to back up after Wellness Week but so far we are doing okay.
