Prep Transition

Transition is an important part of our core business at the Junior School. In Week Three of Term Four we will commence our Early Learning Centre to Prep transition program. The 2019 Prep teacher will make visits to the Early Learning Centre to observe the Piccino students in their Reggio learning environment. In the following weeks they will transition the 2019 students to the Prep classroom for a series of short introductory activities. The transition program will conclude with a full day in the Prep classroom on Thursday November 8th -Junior School Orientation Day.

The 2018 Prep Assembly will be held on Wednesday September 19th (Week 10). All Prep and Early Learning Centre families are welcome to attend.

2018 Naplan Results

On Monday September 1st, the Year Three and Year Five NAPLAN results will be sent home. A parent information session will be run next Wednesday (September 3rd) at 3.30 pm in the Junior School Library. All Year Three and Year Five parents are welcome to attend. The session will allow parents the opportunity to ask questions and also be informed about the 2018 NAPLAN tests, how they were conducted and ways to correctly interrupt the results.

Wellness Week

Last week we celebrated ‘Wellness Week’ with a range of activities organised by Year Five leaders Miranda Page, Sophie Merrin, Amelia Hiscock and Olivia Rees. The girls worked independently to provide thoughtful and entertaining activities during break times including a Mindfulness session, a disco, a photo booth and a ‘Jar of Kindness’. It was an enjoyable week for all concerned-well done girls!

Hockey

The final round of the regular season saw College Bandicoots defeat College Tassie Devils 3-1, College Drop Bears defeat Demons 4-2 and College Numbats defeat Dunkeld 11-0. All teams played spirited and expansive hockey throughout the fullness of the season. Many thanks to team coaches David Merrin, Heath Templeton and Ben Hawthorne and team managers Penny Adamson, Chantelle Butcher, Marni White and Fiona Hermon for all their efforts in wonderfully supporting Division 4 teams. It certainly was the most competitive and enjoyable season we have had.

This Saturday sees the finals commence, with College Bandicoots taking on Coleraine and College Drop Bears taking on College Numbats at Pedrina Park. Best of luck to all teams.
