Principal's Report

The most practical kind of politics is the politics of decency. Theodore Roosevelt
We congratulate our Federal Member for Wannon Mr Dan Tehan MP on his recent appointment as Minister for Education and Training as part of a Cabinet reshuffle announced on Sunday by the new Prime Minister. As Minister for Education and Training, he has responsibility for early child care and childhood education, school education, higher education, vocational education and training, international education and research. Dan’s appointment is a huge honour and he will no doubt provide ‘decency’ and ‘common sense’ to the uncertainty surrounding funding for all schools.
I also commend Amy Waters, Alec Jagger and the SRC on a wonderful ‘Wellness Week’. Our Wednesday assembly was filled with song and dance while the lunchtime activities and ‘College Has Got Talent’ concert clearly demonstrated the inclusive and supportive nature of our school community. Well done to all involved.
Finally, I congratulate the College Magpies U/13 and U/16 Football sides on making their respective Grand Finals last week. The U/16s won in comprehensive fashion while the U/13s finished a close second! The sportsmanship on show in both games was most impressive. Bravo!
Dr Andrew Hirst
