Introducing....

Rhiannon Eastaway

School Nurse

Hello Brunswick Secondary College community! I joined BSC at the beginning of this year and am enjoying meeting  all the staff and students.

A little bit about myself…

I began working as a Registered Nurse at The Alfred Hospital and have since worked with the Royal District Nursing Service, the Royal Children’s Hospital, and some private hospitals. I’ve also volunteered with the Australian Red Cross and in the health clinic at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre as a nurse/general administration officer.

I have been with the Department of Education for a few years now working as a Visiting Primary School Nurse and a Secondary School Nurse. These roles have involved health screening , referrals, health education and promotion. I am also currently studying a Master of Public Health and my interests include mental health and respectful relationships.

Some information about the role of the Secondary School Nurse has been provided in this newsletter and can also be found on the DET website - Secondary School Nursing Program. I am more than happy to discuss my role further if you have questions.

I work two days a week at BSC - primarily Mondays and Tuesdays however this may differ some weeks depending on what is needed at the time.  If you wish to contact me you can send me an email via re00@brunswick.vic.edu.au, or speak with school staff.

I’m excited to be here at Brunswick and I look forward to meeting you all over time!
