House Athletics Carnival

What a fabulous day we had at the St James House Athletics Carnival. The sun was shining, students were jumping, throwing and running as far and as fast as they could. A big thank-you to our amazing group of students for being the best! Thank-you to our parent community who came and cheered and encouraged all of our students. Thank-you to those of you who could spare some time to volunteer. As always these events could not run without you. Lastly thank-you to the wonderful staff of St James who do everything with a smile!

Congratulations to all the students in Byrne(Red) House for winning the most points overall. And well done to the students in Mulquin(Green) House for showing fabulous House Spirit.

Over the last few weeks students from year 4-6 have been given the opportunity to trial for two St James soccer teams. Last Friday students who made the team were notifiied and an Operoo was sent out earlier this week. Thank-you to all students who trialed.

The Holt District Soccer LP(Lightning Premiership) will be held on Friday 28th April at Caulfield Park. Parents are welcome to attend this event. A draw and further information for the day was attached to the Operoo.

Cross Country-Friday 5th May

On Friday 5th May all students in Years 3-6 will take part in the Holt District Cross Country at Bald Hill Park. Students will be taken by bus to and from the event. Parents are welcome to attend. Please see below the timetable for the day. Students will be required to wear their full sport uniform on this day as well as bring two pairs of runner(one to wear during the cross country and one to change into-it can be quite wet) a plastic bag for wet shoes is also useful. Lunch and drink bottles will also need to be brought with students on this day.

Friday Sport-Term 2

During Term 2 our Year 5 and 6 students are involved in a weekly sport program. This year the program will run for 4 weeks beginning on the 12th May. All students in Year 5 and 6 have chosen to either play AFL or Netball. Each week students will travel to another school within our district or a school will come to us to play against each other. The purpose of the competition is to expose students to a weekly sport round robin, to learn the skills of the sport or further enhance what they already know, for fun and to meet students from other schools. The competition does not involve scoring. An Operoo will be sent out during the holidays including all relevant information such as what to bring and the draw for the rounds.
