Year 3 Afternoon Tea
We had a simply wonderful afternoon with parents from the year 3s who at very late notice came to celebrate the the Kitchen Garden experience of the year 3 students. We put on scones, jam and cream and tea and coffee and even arranged for a glimpse of sunshine.
Our families witnessed our students briefly explain our activities from the KG experience, then a walk through our outdoor gallery with photos and details from the sessions. Students were the experts explaining to parents the recipes they made and enjoyed and explained the multicultural focus of the recipes to complement their inquiry learning.
Thank you to all those who attended and to those who supported from afar.
Year 4 Stewardship Program
The year 4 students had the final session learning about the work of Melbourne Water in caring for and managing the health of Dandenong Creek. Last week on our excursion to Tirhatuan Park reserve, students had first hand experience collecting data, then used this information to draw conclusions about the health of the creek. This has been a wonderful learning opportunity for these students, and this learning journey will continue into next term complementing the inquiry learning and assisting the students in their ongoing role as stewards.
Earth Day
April 22 marks Earth Day for 2023. The theme for this year is Invest in our Planet. This lovely poem/song reflects the importance of investing in our planet, reminding us all to care and protect what we have so we have it for the future.

When our Earth is happy and healthy it is a better place for us to live.
Consider ways you and your family can contribute to a healthier planet - what will you do for Earth Day? Take some quizzes to share withe family.
