MUGHS Visual Fundraiser

On Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 April, Melbourne University Global Health Society Nossal or MUGHS Nossal held our first fundraising event for 2023 during Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences: "Home is Where the Heart is" Visual Fundraiser!

This year, MUGHS is raising funds and awareness to support displaced communities and refugee health in Australia. We held a successful visual fundraiser over both days of the conferences with our space and heart themed visual board that allowed for donators to show their support by decorating and adding their own star, planet, astronaut or spaceship to the visual board. Collectively, these donations allowed for our rocket to reach its goal and "land home", surpassing our initial aim of a few hundred dollars to $714.10!! A massive thank you to all the parents, staff and students who donated to the cause, all donations from cent coins to our highest donation of $50 is what helped make this event so successful! Finally, a big thank you to the MUGHS team leaders and members that worked so hard on our first event!

Considering it has been three years since Nossal has had all in-person interviews, our goal was initially set at around $150-$200. However, with the hard work of the MUGHS team and generosity of the Nossal community we destroyed that goal and raised $714.10. Massive thank you to all the MUGHS members and leaders that helped make our first event such an amazing one, and of course thank you to everyone who donated.
