Parents and Friends Community News

Anyone else feel like they are racing to the finish line?  Or limping?  At least there is chocolate at the end!  Talking of which .....

Easter Raffle

We have seven wonderful Easter Raffle Hampers to give away in our Easter Raffle at the final assembly on Thursday. We would like to thank our sponsors - https://gumtreegoodfood.com.au/ for providing an amazing hamper full of chocolate goodness, as well as Brighton Chocolates, Bay Street for donating a huge Easter Egg and a chocolate hamper. We would also like to thank those families who kindly donated Easter goodies for us to make up some additional hampers as prizes.

Easter Egg Guessing

Thank you to our troupe of Grade 6 students who organised and manned the egg guessing comp every morning this week. We will announce the lucky winner with the right, or closest, guess at the final assembly too. It’s always interesting to see all the random guesses - that jar is quite deceptive!

Fun Lunch

We love the last day of term fun lunch. We hope all our students and teachers enjoyed their sausages and a special shout out to our Prep students who experienced their first BPS Fun Lunch - a great tradition at our school.

Mother’s Day Lunch

Shut the gate!! No-one was more surprised than us to sell out of Mother’s Day Lunch tickets in less than 24 hours. We are simply overwhelmed and so very grateful for all the support. We are also very disappointed that we are unable to open up more tickets for those who missed out, but the venue has a capacity which we have already reached at 160! We do hope those who missed out can join us at the after party from 4.15pm onwards at Bellucci Bar, 151 Martin Street, Brighton.

Mother’s Day Stall

Another great tradition at BPS. Our dynamite mum duo, Shelley Armstrong and Hydie Tozios, have taken it to another level this year sourcing local high quality gifts for our wonderful mums, carers and special someones. The stall will run on Thursday 11 May when children will come into the community hub during school time with their teacher and class to choose a gift. Parents will be asked to purchase the $15 token for their children (under each of their profiles) on QKR and the kids will be allocated a token (sticker) to swap for a gift on the day. The kids really love this event. Also, so none of our mums are in the know, we have asked the Dads to man the stall this year. The Mums will take over for the Father’s Day Stall.

Bogan Bingo

Lock in Friday 28th July for a fun Bogan Bingo night to be held in the school. Details to follow next term.

Happy holidays and see you next term!
