Eisu Gakkan

Eisu Gakkan Students at Fairhills High School

We hosted three students from Eisu Gakkan, our sister school in Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan. Mizuki Kittaka, Kaya Matsuura, and Hanako Motoshim attended classes from October 11 to November 11. We hope they made many friends and learnt lots of Aussie English. We thank the Barnes, Bilson-Evans, Cake, Eyssens, and Bevan families for their amazing generosity in hosting the girls.

If any Fairhills students would like to do a longer term school experience in Japan, Eisu Gakkan is willing to host our students in return. If you are interested please see Ms. Winstone, the Languages Coordinator in the Languages Staffroom. Parents or guardians can contact her at winstone.jessica.j@edumail.vic.gov.au or on 9758 5022.

If you would like to see what Fukuyama looks like, watch the section of The Wolverine when Wolverine arrives at a railway station. That scene was filmed at Fukuyama Station. We can’t promise you an encounter with Hugh Jackman, but we can guarantee an awesome time learning Japanese and making new friends at a very welcoming and secure school.
