JAPANESE VISIT 2016

The 18th visit of students and staff from Shizuoka took place from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 8 August.  Castlemaine Secondary College hosted 39 excited students and 4 enthusiastic staff members.  Over this time many life long and special relationships were formed and everyone had a very happy memorable experience.

SRC Update

The last few weeks have been particularly busy for members of the SRC. We have been meeting regularly in an effort to determine how we might operate next year and beyond. It is an opportunity to revisit what it means to be the student voice at CSC and how it will look once we become a single campus.

We have conducted extensive consultation with our peers across both campuses and have, at this stage, determined the preferred model for a 7-12 SRC.

Over the coming weeks we will flesh out the details with an aim of bringing forward the voting of next year’s SRC. We hope that the new SRC will be able to begin work in Term 4 to ensure that next year is a smooth transition for all the students we represent.

Wear it Purple Day

The Diversity group is for GLBTIQ students and their allies. We believe that every young person is unique, important and worthy of love. No one should be subject to bullying, belittlement and invalidation.  We believe in a world in which every young person can thrive, irrelevant of sex, sexuality or gender identity.

At the Blakeley Rd Campus we are holding an event for Wear It Purple day on Friday 26th August during Lunchtime. It will be an out of uniform day - but participating students must wear purple and bring along a gold coin donation.

There will be: prizes for best dressed students and staff; cupcakes; nail salon; photo booth; face painting; music; competitions; a sausage sizzle and information stalls.

Come and helps us celebrate diversity!
