Latest Council News

Acting Council President, Beth Mellick, has been voted in as President at last Council meeting. Beth was hoping to remain as Vice President and appoint a new person in the role as President, but her very supportive and active Council members got behind her and aim to support her in the role. Beth has three children and works full time, but despite her busy lifestyle, she will endeavour to get to as many events and meetings as possible, and will remain active in the Music Support Group and Drama Support Group.

Council also made a decision on the uniform at its last meeting. A Council sub-group has carried out a number of surveys of parents, community, students and staff over the last year. After a number of discussions, the sub-group recommended that all students wear a uniform at the College. This decision has been made with two main concepts in mind - equality and pride.

There is a phase in schedule so that students who are currently not wearing a uniform will not have to buy one. But next year when all students move to Blakeley Road, years 7 to 10 will be wearing the full uniform.

Thank you for all the feedback on the uniform. The sub-group will continue to work on the issues to do with comfort, fit, price and style with the uniform supplier.
