Our Recap

These past two weeks has seen us continue to learn about and make our own healthy snacks to gorge on. It was great to see the children were eager to make and eat these. The first snack was the ever-popular Fruit Kebabs. The kids got to make up their own using a variety of fresh fruit. The second snack was a bit sweeter; Cheerio Chests. This was just as popular with everyone wanting more to take home.

With the beautiful weather on offer we spent a lot of time outside as well. Some of the highlights included some friendly strong arm competitions using the Vortexes and tennis balls. Another was the Alphabet Scavenger Hunt which saw the kids run across the School to find as many items as they could. There was great team work on display here with many assisting others who got stuck.

When inside, we dabbled in some art and craft. We made our own ‘Scratch It’ sheets with the success of this activity surprising most. Origami has also had a good run. One afternoon the children worked on making a whole heap of things including: neck ties, diamonds, boxes and ninja stars to name a few. We also had a focus on recycling one afternoon, having a think to see how we could reuse all the biscuit boxes we had saved up. A team bowling game was the idea. It was a lot of fun.

Finally, the children enjoyed a couple of afternoons of science. One of the experiments centred around our dirty hands. Too often we have been unable to rid ourselves of paint or food colouring, going home with rainbow hands. We sought to find some methods to see what we can use in the future. Bi-carb soda and salt were what we concluded we need to use now.
