ADVENT

Advent is a time of thought and waiting, a time when we consider the past year and how we may be better in the 12 months to come as we await the coming of the Christ child.

It is a time of faith and family, a time of reflection crowned by Christmas celebration.

Advent is the first season of the Church year where we prepare ourselves to celebrate the wonderful feast of Christmas. Advent is a time of thought and waiting, a time when we consider the past year and and look forward to what is to come as we await for the coming of the Christ child.

It is a time of faith and family, a time of reflection, a time of preparation and anticipation.

It's not just about anticipating Christmas, but about reminding ourselves that we have a job to do and and as Catholics we are preparing for the reign of God in our lives and in our world.

At this time of the year we are often overwhelmed by the busyness, we ask our Lord- O Emmanuel, to come into our hearts and guide us in the beauty of His way of LOVE.

Thoughts from Pope Francis

'This Advent, make yourself small, make yourself humble, make yourself a servant of others, and the Lord will give you the ability to understand how to make peace.'

Please take some time to explore and discuss with your child/ren the magnificent Sand Sculpture that has been constructed at the Vatican using 700 ton of sand. Goggle 'sand sculpture Vatican city'.
