New staff at St Albans Secondary College

Tian Nguyen

Hi everyone,

My name is Thuy Anh Thai Nguyen (note: Vietnamese people do love long and complicated names), please just call me Tian, and I just recently joined the International Student Program department as an assistant to Miranda. It is such a great opportunity for me to be part of St Albans Secondary College and to take on a new role. My background was in education and I had been a volunteer integrated teacher at Overnewton Anglican College to help students from a variety of backgrounds, as well as those with learning disabilities. This understanding allows me to be easy to connect with students and vice versa.

I have been in Australia for 16 years with my husband, John Nguyen, two daughters, Josephine 13 and Vivienne 10 and Pumpkin, our pet dog. Australia is like my second home, however I am still not convinced by the weather and cricket.

Charlotte Bronte’s book, Jane Eyre, is my favourite book since it was introduced to me in high school. I still reread it from time to time.

I am really excited to be part of St Albans Secondary College. I hope to meet many of you in person. Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming. I look forward to working with all of you.
