LOTE Week

LOTE week started off with a bang this week.

In Monday, staff were treated to a smorgasbord of desserts from many different cultures. Staff were very generous in bringing desserts and treats and a good time was had by all.

On Wednesday approximately 60 Staff enjoyed a delicious Bento box lunch. A big thank you to all the Japanese teachers for their hard work and organisation and to all the LOTE teachers who worked hard to make this a very successful week.

On Thursday, at lunchtime, staff and students were able to buy and enjoy a wide range of cultural foods. An assortment of Italian gelato, pizza, spring and rice paper rolls, sushi, and French crepes and cupcakes were available.  A big thank you also must go to the talented French chefs in 8H, Ms Honeycombe and Ms Mackintosh, who spent a very cheerful lesson making cupcakes for the LOTE lunch as part of their food unit this year. Thank you also to the House captains who worked tirelessly to help set up, sell food and help with the Staff LOTE hamper.

Students also competed in their House colours in a friendly game of Bocce.  Proceeds from the LOTE week all help fundraise for our overseas Study tours to Japan, Italy and France. All up, we raised over $1000. A big thank you to everyone who participated.

Congratulations to the following staff members, Mr Mark Micallef, Mr Billy Rowland, Mr John Hammond and Ms Amila Kalco for winning the daily Staff LOTE quizzes.

Finally, a big congratulations to Ms Andria Panteli for winning the Staff LOTE hamper.

On behalf of the LOTE staff we would like to thank you again for your participation and we look forward to LOTE week in 2019.
