As 2019 draws to a close it is a time to look back and reflect upon all of the positive experiences for both staff and students that have occurred throughout the year, the most recent highlight being the Graduation and Prize Day. To see the students acknowledged for their efforts and accomplishments at the College is a privilege. I wish our graduating cohort all the best for their futures and ask that they call back in from time to time to keep us informed of what they are doing.

2020 Timetable and Course Selections

The timetable for next year has been developed, including the allocation of students to classes. Next year is our biggest for student numbers. All, endeavours have been made to accommodate students preferred selections. There have been some cases where this has not been possible, and students have been given their second and/or third preference. Confirmation of your child’s ‘Pathway’ and course selections have been provided in the 2020 Enrolment Package Part 2.

Reports

Year 10 and 11 students will receive formal reports at the end of the year indicating the grades for their courses, and their progress through their respective VET qualifications that they have been undertaking. Please discuss your child’s report with them and address any constructive feedback for areas of improvement, arrange a time for interview if requested and celebrate any achievements and successes.

College Processes & Procedures

Each year the College Handbook is reviewed, and changes/amendments made as required. A copy of the Handbook has been provided with the 2020 Enrolment Package Part 2. Please make sure as parents/guardians and students of the College you read and are familiar with the processes and procedures outlined in this publication. Some changes have been highlighted in the "Check for Updates" section of this newsletter.

The College looks forward to the ongoing support from students and parents/guardians of these processes and procedures that outline the standards and expectations of the College.

Finally, I would like to thank our parents who have been positive supporters of the College throughout 2019. The role that you play in conjunction with the school and its staff is imperative to get the best out of your child.

I look forward to seeing those of you who are returning or commencing at the College in 2020.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
