Japanese Department

New Staff

We have welcomed the following teachers to the Japanese Department;

• Mr Shusuke Sahashi who is teaching Years Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten Japanese.
• Mrs Liz Blanks, who has moved from Junior School to Senior School this year.  She is teaching Years Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten Japanese.
• Mrs Maria Krelle is teaching Japanese in the Junior School.

Gojo Visit 2019 – Host Families required

Gojo Senior High School is our sister school in Japan and they have been visiting us every March over the last 20 years.  Gojo is visiting us again in Week 7 this term.  The Gojo students are between sixteen and seventeen years of age.  Please contact Ms Watanabe (mowatanabe@girton.vic.edu.au) if you are interested in hosting a student.

• When:  Monday 11th March – Monday 18th March 2019 (8:00am departure)

*Please Note:  Monday 11th March is a Labour Day Holiday.  Gojo students need to be collected at 4pm from their accommodation in town.

• Responsibility of Host Families:  Provision of accommodation, meals and transport.
• The class attendance of the hosting students will not be affected.

Japan Trip 2019

I would like to organize a two-week trip to Japan in December or next January if there are enough students interested.  We will visit Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima during the first week and we will spend the second week at Gojo Senior High School.  Please contact Ms Watanabe (mowatanabe@girton.vic.edu.au) to register your interest.
