Student Work

Artworks inspired by Kenny Pittock

Last Week in Art, the middle and senior students followed a video by Melbourne artist Kenny Pittock. The students sketched along with Kenny, then I encouraged them to create their own drawing that includes a pun, just like the artwork of Kenny. I selected a few of the drawings to email to Kenny and he replied straight away. Here is Kenny’s Reply:

Hi Jenny,

Thanks so much for your wonderful email!

I'm so pleased to hear your son and yourself liked Birdy Homes and Gardens!

I'm also so pleased to hear you liked my recent NGV drawing video. Just in case you and your students might be interested, here's another new couple of drawing videos I filmed last week for Bunjil Place Gallery, hope you like them!

This one teaches you how to draw Calm Clive, an animated fish;

And this one teaches you how to draw a shopping list, just like Michelangelo;

Thank you so much for sharing some of your students amazing drawings, I love them all, and so please be sure to let your students know I think they're awesome!

Thanks so much again, you've totally made my day,

Hope you're really well and having a nice week,

Very best wishes,

Kenny :)

"One you Love"

Frankston Art Centre invited students to send in artwork of the 'One you love" and write 100 words or less about their artwork for an online exhibit.  Here are a few of our students arty portraits.

Drawn by Molly T

Bitsy is my Aunties adopted pug! She had lived a hard life before she was rescued. I have drawn a portrait of her to honer her this Mothers Day. She was used for breeding and had her puppies taken away but she still has a beautiful, loving nature. That's why Bitsy has my heart!

I did this for my mum. She has influenced me to be my best self. She is amazing and I am proud to call her daughter. I thought of this as a way of thanking her for helping me, loving me and being the nicest person in the world. I hope that she will have a good Mother's Day and have fun. That is the most important thing!
