I hope that all of the mothers, grandmothers, godmothers and special women in the St Brendan's community enjoyed many blessings with their loved ones at home on Mother’s Day.

The Feast Day of St Brendan- Saturday May 16th-

This week the Catholic Christian faith community celebrates the Feast (Solemnity) of St Brendan; the patron saint of sailors and of our school. Brendan was a courageous, resilient and faithful sailor and navigator who ventured into treacherous seas in search of faith and in pursuit of ministry. Coincidentally, we as a society have in recent times called upon our own courage, resilience and faith to ‘navigate’ life, with the hope in our hearts of better days to come and gratitude for the blessings we have. Please share this prayer as a family, which resonated with me, as we voyage together in spirit as a community. I hope you find it to be a relevant reflection in your home at this time too.

PRAYER OF ST. BRENDAN

Dear Lord,

Help me to journey

beyond the familiar

and into the unknown.

Give me the faith to leave old ways

and break fresh ground with You.

Christ of the mysteries, I trust You

to be stronger than each storm within me.

I will trust in the darkness and know

that my times, even now, are in Your hands.

Tune my spirit to the music of heaven,

and somehow, make my obedience count for You.

AMEN

All live Masses as large gatherings, liturgies and faith based events have been cancelled or postponed due to government restrictions. The GREAT NEWS is that Fr Michael and the team at Westernport Parish will be posting a weekly Mass for you to share in at home. To access these:

1.    Visit the parish home page

https://westernportchurch.com.au/

2.    Scroll right down to the bottom of the page to access Masses with Fr Michael.

New Masses will be posted on Saturday evenings each week. Check out this week's Mass, led by Fr. Michael. You never know who else you might see on the Mass posts too!

As we are taking things day by day, please keep an eye out on the school newsletter over the coming weeks for further information about all matters pertinent to Religious Education. I will endeavour to reschedule all events as this becomes possible, safe, practicable and permissible and communicate new arrangements with families in due course.

Do take care and please stay safe.

Yours in faith and harmony.
