Dear Parents and Friends of St Brendan’s,

Welcome to Week Five! I hope that all of our wonderful mums enjoyed their Mother’s Day. The staff and I definitely missed preparing our annual Mother’s Day breakfast for you all. I am hopeful that we can make next year’s breakfast a doubly special event.

The Premier Announces A Staggered Return To School

I am sure that you will have heard the Premier Daniel Andrews announcement this morning that outlines a staggered return to school in the later half of Term 2:

Monday 25th May - a planning day for teachers

Tuesday 26th May -  a return for students in Years Prep, One and Two

Monday 8th June - Queen’s Birthday Holiday

Tuesday 9th June - a return for students in Years 3 - 6

I will send a more detailed plan via SkoolBag as more information is released and our own school planning is complete. Please look for further updates from me.

Student Emails/Student Work

I have really enjoyed receiving emails and work samples from the students who are learning from home. It is a lovely way for me to connect with the children and it makes my job here in a very quiet school feel a little more connected to our children who are learning from home.

Sad News

You may remember the ‘Hug in a Box’ fundraiser held in Term One to support a former parent from the St Brendan’s community. I’m really sadden to have to let you know that Brigid died last Friday. Please keep her mum, Marnie and her children and extended family in your thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.

Meet Milo

The children and staff learning at school this week were delighted to meet Mrs Heath's new puppy, Milo. It was so nice to have a little distraction from the quiet and slightly empty school we have been working in for the last few weeks. Thank you for sharing your ‘new baby’ with us Mrs Heath.

I wish everyone a good week.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.
