POSITIVE CLIMATE

There are lots of things happening in the Positive Climate Space – the first one is the introduction of our New VALUESRESPECT – COMMUNITY – RESILIENCE – LEARNING and our New Expected Behaviours which were developed by a group of students across all year levels.

The behaviours listed below have replaced our Student, Staff and Parent Matrices and after a vote last year, the overwhelming choice was to move forward with one Matrix - a consistent set of expectations for our whole College Community.

Term 1 focus has been around RESPECT- both in and outside the classroom. As a parent of the school, please take the time to talk to your child about what RESPECT – looks like, sounds like and feels like not only our school setting but also in your home environment.

Based around RESPECT and our 3 Key Expected Behaviours the following are some examples that you could discuss with your child.

New Matrix Design

Finally we are excited to give you a quick sneak peek at some of the designs for the new Values & Expected Behaviours Posters.  These will be shown to our student team who reviewed our Matrices for a final critique before we ask Students, Parents and Staff to Vote on the final versions.  Once this is done, we will be launching our New Values & Matrix.

Finally we are looking for some students to join our Positive Climate Team.  Each student’s role on the team will be to give a student’s perspective on different things as they arise and to communicate information back to the Student Leadership Team.  As part of the Positive Climate team our role is to ensure that “Our community provides a safe and respectful environment, which promotes individuals’ social, emotional and academic growth” - Maffra SC Behaviour Purpose Statement.
