GRADE 6 GRADUATION MASS

An email was sent home to ALL grade 6 families on Monday 7th regarding Graduation Mass on Thursday 10th Dec.  All students are to wear summer uniform with their grade 6 T Shirts.  If you have not received the email, please check your junk folder.

JUNIOR ATHLETICS

Friday 4th December, saw the running of the Junior Athletic Sports on our school oval. Unfortunately COVID19 restrictions prevented parents from attending much to everyone's disappointment.

Without parental help, grade 6 students from the leadership teams manned and operated the events with staff taking students around to the different activities. This worked really well with the senior boys and girls taking their roles very seriously and they demonstrated initiative and leadership in successfully managing their particular events.

The junior pupils were full of enthusiasm and applied themselves wholeheartedly to each event. They are to be congratulated for their efforts and sportsmanship - well done. The school was very happy to be able to go ahead with the sports in a year where most things have had to be cancelled.

Results:

Coyne (Blue) 178.5 pts,

Phelan (Red) 172.5 pts,

Reardon (Gold) 160.4 pts.

FRENCH DAY

French Day offers students an opportunity to use language learned during the year in a meaningful and purposeful way. Our students worked very hard in the lead up to French Day this year, learning or revising French, learning songs, and new games using French as their main language. Activities were restricted to their own classrooms, with Grade 5 and 6 students preparing and running each of the activities. The fives and sixes are to be commended for the very professional way they conducted themselves, the care they took in preparing the items used on the day and for keeping students in the French Language. The junior and middle classes worked very hard to learn the language they need to play games and earn their credit cards in order to buy things. The students enjoyed Flemming's Berries' waffles and sorbet and everyone enjoyed the film 'A Monster in Paris'. I look forward to next year's French Day, when hopefully, parents can come again and participate.

Merci to all those who helped to make it such a special day.
