Thank you Kirsten Brooks

Kirsten, you have been an extraordinary contributor to the Kilvington community.

As President of the PFA for the past seven years, you have led and built a strong, engaged, community-minded and philanthropic organisation that works hand-in-hand with the entire School community.

The number of active parents and friends involved in our community has risen dramatically in your time as President, due to your commitment to inclusion, culture and identity, connection and, first and foremost, your genuine dedication to building community spirit.

You are a tireless volunteer and ambassador for the School, and advocate for parents and students. Under your stewardship, you have overseen the growth in volunteer recruitment and the establishment of a number of new initiatives and grown existing ones at the School.

These include the Kilvington Cares Meals program, Secondhand Uniform Shop, Community Fairs, Mother’s and Father’s Day events, thank you and welcome events including transition to high school picnics, and many other initiatives. You excel in communication and ensuring the inclusion of all personalities and cultures not only within Kilvington but the broader community.

You have been a constant presence at Open Mornings, Parent Information Nights and Parent Morning Teas racking up hours and hours of your time to represent the unique and important parent perspective.

It’s been so rewarding to see you recognised over your time as a PFA Member and President. These include:

  • Glen Eira Volunteer Award 2017.
  • Kilvington Grammar - Judy Allen Community Award 2018.
  • Caulfield Local Hero Certificate 2019.
  • Recognition as a nominee of the Glen Eira Citizen of the Year Award 2020.

You epitomise volunteering at its best; representing the interests of your community with a generosity of spirit, great energy and always a big smile.

On behalf of the entire Kilvington community, thank you. You will be very much missed, but your extraordinary legacy will live on.

We wish you much love, peace and adventure as you embark on your next journey.

First impressions of a school really count; we still recall your friendly welcome when attending an open day several years ago.

We’ve now been at Kilvington for five years and one of the things we love most is the tremendous sense of community, which you’ve played such a key role in creating via your incredible enthusiasm, warmth and commitment.

Your rallying and support of the CSRs has also been greatly appreciated.

Our sincerest thanks and best wishes for the future.

Kirsten Brooks, you are amazing!

You are the personification of wisdom, kindness and thoughtfulness. You are an extraordinary mother, a wonderful friend and a passionate and committed member of our community. I just don’t know what we would have done without you at Kilvington.

I’m so, so happy to have been a part of this journey with you and am so happy that our boys are finishing up together. Sending you all my love and hope that our friendship continues.
