Thank you Mr Charlton

Sandy Liu, Year 5

Ben Churilov, School Co-Captain

As students, what we wish for in a Principal is a proficient leader who understands and engages with the complexities of the student experience.

For the entire duration of our time at Kilvington, Mr Charlton has fulfilled this role with masterful competency. This has been both impressive and inspiring.

With an impact that will undoubtedly outlive his many years with the School, we thank Mr Charlton for his ambition to cultivate the quality and character of Kilvington as it stands today.

Caitlin Johnston, School Co-Captain

When being asked what qualities we wanted in our new Principal, there was an overwhelming emphasis on Mr Charlton’s strong connection to the Kilvington community.

His involvement throughout many aspects of School has been integral to our community - it is undoubtable that he is the clay that has shaped what Kilvington is today.

This year especially, I got to see his drive and passion for making the School the best it can be, and it is this passion and commitment which I hope we all can find in our lives. Thank you, Mr Charlton!

Charles and Merilyn Griplas

It is rare that you find an exceptional leader like Jon Charlton. His vision for the School, passion for high standards, and ability to capture all that is different into a cohesive student body, is incredible.

Thanks to that fateful decision of switching to co-ed in 2010, both Lachlan and Oliver are growing into inquisitive, inclusive and respectful young men, a tribute to the Kilvington ethos.

 Duan Dion

What a lovely person he is! Mr Charlton cares for the ELC children – this can be seen and felt by us all. We will never forget his smile. We wish him all the best for his future plans.

Cam, Caro and Lily Bruce

Thank you Mr Charlton for your inspirational leadership and the passion you have demonstrated for our kid’s learning. Your legacy is a wonderfully vibrant school community. We will especially miss your smiling face at School drop-off every morning! All the very best, you will be missed!

Teegala Family

Mr Charlton, you will be missed greatly in Kilvington. Every morning or afternoon when we pick up our kids, you are always available with a big smile and great energy to greet students and parents. That surely brings a welcome feeling for kids and parents in the Kilvington community.

You have been great and will be missed. We wish you very all the best for your journey ahead and look forward to meeting you before you finish. Thank you 😊.

Nicole, Pete and Nina Seuret-Batterham

We joined Kilvington only this year, five weeks into Term 1. When we looked at potential schools for Nina, Kilvington stood out with it’s pastoral care and wellbeing program.

Since having joined, we have felt so lucky to be part of this wonderful, supportive community that is that way it is because of your leadership.

The culture of the School comes from the top down. You have done an outstanding job as Principal, we are only sorry that we won't get the chance to experience your leadership for longer.

Your legacy lives on in each student, and we are so grateful for what you have brought to the School. We wish you a wonderful journey ahead.

Maggie Wen

Thank you so much for introducing co-education back in 2008, so our son Ivan could study at Kilvington. Also, thank you so much for guiding us in person on our interview day with Lyn and Liz in 2020. We met you at the Main Gate, and of course you may not remember who we are now, but it was a very unforgettable moment for us.

Thank you for maintaining the most satisfied teachers and parents group. It was very sad to hear that you are leaving Kilvington, but we wish you and your family the best future.
