Kirsten Brooks, outgoing PFA President
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a parent volunteer at Kilvington, and it has been a pleasure to work with so many wonderful people across our community. It has been a very rewarding experience and greatly enhanced my family’s School connectedness and journey.
In closing our PFA year, I congratulate Christina Welsford on receiving the 2021 Judy Allen Award for her coordination of the Kilvington Cares Meal Program.
I also thank the SHUS team for fitting in a shop in December.
We welcomed Year 7 2022 families with a get-to-know you event at Packer Park, and wrapped up our services of Kilvington Cares, Entertainment Books, SHUS and Craft Group.
We held our AGM and thanked our CSRs and all volunteers for their efforts this year to keep us sane and connected. Never have I worked alongside such enthusiastic and positive volunteers. They are all superstars.
The AGM was held on Tuesdayand I congratulate the incoming PFA Executive, CSRs and extended teams. The President’s Report can be found below.
Following the AGM, thank you to Bianca, Anita and School for hosting a lovely thank you celebration for our volunteers. Volunteers this year have worked hard in the background for our community, particularly around our pillar of care.

The Secondhand Uniform Shop (SHUS) will open for a special session during the School holidays (Saturday 15 January 2022) for sales by appointment only. Please click here to make a sales booking.

Thank you and goodbye
This is my last ITK (and 138th ITK edition!) as PFA President as I leave School with my Year 12 student. Although events have not afforded me the opportunity to thank many of you in person, I offer my sincere thanks for the times we have worked together, shared stories and enjoyed a sense of community.
For those of you who attend meetings, I know you will miss my games, and I will miss your positivity, enthusiasm and generosity. The community we have created together is important, and the partnership with is the School is invaluable in producing the strongest student outcomes.
I sincerely thank Jon, the Kilvington Board, the Executive and all the staff for embracing our enthusiasm and encouraging our participation in our family’s school journey. I thank them for their support, openness and respect.
I feel enormously privileged to have also worked with non-teaching staff at the business end of events, and there are stories about each that I hold dear. I know birthdays, food preferences and hobbies, and in return I am far richer for knowing them. I thank them for their guidance, support and for the fun we have had organising and debriefing together.
And to the many students who have helped us at events, with meals and in planning, thank you.
Where I am the most grateful is in what we have experienced and achieved together each year. Individuals and teams who have quietly gone about growing and making our community what it is today. Thank you for offering your time, energy and good humour.
I am grateful for the key services that PFA offer in SHUS, Food Care and CSRs, and the events large and small that we run throughout the year to connect and enhance our community. Thank you especially to the individuals who support us all with their positivity, sharing and welcome. We are a community of ‘we’ and set a fine example for students as they grow through ‘I’.
I wish you all a good break and a fantastic 2022. Enjoy each and every opportunity.
