Year 8 Anglesea Camp

The 2020 Year 8 camp down to the coast was a fun and exciting experience for the students who attended, and was a very welcome way to end such a challenging school year. Everyone enjoyed the camp, and enthusiastically participated in the activities that over the three amazing days of camp in December.

Great weather on Wednesday and Friday saw them taking advantage of the sunshine for bike riding and water park activities. Davey Alexander excelled at Wednesday's bike riding, but Maurice encountered a difficult section of the trail, resulting in a big stack! Thankfully, he's still in one piece to tell the tale.

The first and second days of the camp at Anglesea also included the amazing opportunity to go surfing. Tyla Armeni and Trai Drinkwater did a great job, and Mr. Schier dropped by and showed off his amazing surfing skills.

On Thursday, the second day of camp, the students participated in team-building activities. Some great co-operation was shown by Matthew Oliver and Jayda Simpson was when they saved their raft team by jumping into the river to help push them to the pier. Kayaking also proved a popular activity, especially for students to push each other into the river while paddling around.

The final day of camp was spent at Adventure Park Geelong, which they all totally enjoyed, making the most of the summery weather. Throughout the Year 8 camp, students were consistently demonstrating the school values of respectful relationships, high expectations, and excellence. Certainly a great way to end the year!
