Classroom News

Junior Class - Miss Williams

This week has been a fun week within the school.  There has been lots of change and Christmas activities taking place across the school.  Our current Foundation students have been spending time in the Classroom 2 with Mrs Creek and next year's Foundation students, before returning to the Junior Class in the afternoons.  The current Year 2 students have spent the morning with myself and the Year 1s as a 'middle group' before heading off to the senior classroom.  The Year 1 students have been lucky enough to spend the whole day with me!  We are getting used to our movements for next year and we all seem to be loving it.  In other news we were lucky enough to receive Christmas cards back from the residents at Avonlea after we sent cards to them last week.

Senior Class - Miss Webb

This week has been very busy, with students moving into different classrooms.  The Seniors enjoyed their time with Miss Walker at the beginning of the week, the kids had lots of fun with her!  The current Year 2 students have done an amazing job in the senior room this week, they're really keen to get involved in the class activities.  Well done!

During our art lessons last week and this week the seniors have made some Christmas decorations from natural materials, it was incredible to see how they turned a few sticks into a reindeer face and some many other incredible things!  Some students also decided to use rocks and paint images on the surface.  I was blown away by the focus and images the kids were able to paint.  I can’t wait for the fun next week and to hear about what the Year 6 students got up to in high school!

Reading Awards

The following students were recognised this week for their reading achievements:

75 nights - Moe Tha Zin
150 nights - Tyler

Little Joey

This week we continue to acknowledge the significant role of the "Brown Joeys" in the establishment of St Patrick's School, and recognised Jonas and Thar Shue with Little Joey awards.

Our Little Joeys receive a certificate, sticker and a voucher/goods donated by a local business.  This week's vouchers were donated by Wimmera Bakery and Cambrelle's.  We are very grateful for the contributions from our local businesses.
