New House Colours,

This year, we have had the opportunity to consult scientists, artists and our community of parents, staff and students in order to come up with a new emblem for each of the house colours. These plants may appear in our home gardens. This year, we will also have the opportunity to look at their role in our environment, their cultural uses and their symbolism.

RED is WARATAH

YELLOW is ACACIA

GREEN is GARAK

NEW HOUSE COLOURS / NOUVELLES COULEURS DES ÉQUIPES DE L’ÉCOLE

Families, students and staff shared concerns over the old House names. Discussions started, involving Student Representatives about the possibility of having new names for the school houses.

It was a great learning opportunity, as we saw the process for change and that things don’t simply happen overnight. 

We explored and researched many different options for new names.

In the end, the choice was Native Australian plants that grow around us

Les familles, les élèves et le personnel de l’école ont exprimé leurs soucis au sujet des anciens noms d’équipes de l’école.  Nous avons entamé un dialogue avec les représentants des élèves pour évaluer la possibilité de renommer les équipes scolaires.

Ce fut une belle opportunité de comprendre les étapes à suivre pour effectuer un changement et que les choses ne changent pas du jour au lendemain.

Nous avons exploré différentes options et avons fait des recherches pour trouver des idées.

Au final, nous avons choisi des noms de plantes aborigènes qui vivent autour de nous.
