BRASS SOIREE

Our first concert performance in front of a real live audience since 2019 was held last Tuesday. We had a wonderful turn out of parents and family supporters who enjoyed a great night of music.  Huge Congratulations to all the Brass students who were involved in the Soiree. Performing pieces from their repertoire this early in the year takes a lot of courage and dedication.  Big thanks to Sally Barkla and Jim McGuffie for co-ordinating the event.

LOW BRASS SCHOLARSHIP

The Instrumental Music Program here at Vermont Secondary is primarily focused on band/ensemble performances. One of the key elements of a successful and great sounding band is in achieving the right balance of instruments and sounds.

With this in mind, this year we have decided to offer 3 places for any students interested in learning a low Brass instrument (Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba) in the junior or middle years.

This scholarship will offer FREE tuition from a highly experienced Brass Teacher for the first semester with the view to commit to a full year of study. Please come and see us in the Music Centre for more Information.

MUSIC SUPPORT GROUP

The Music Support Group (MSG) is a group of parents, students and friends who support the instrumental music program with fundraising, concert events and excursions throughout the year. The group meets for an hour twice a term after hours to discuss upcoming events and to share ideas about how best to support the Music Program here at Vermont.  It is a great way to meet other parents, make a connection with the school and provide support for students involved.

If you are interested in participating, volunteering or getting involved, please contact 8872 6369.

TERM 2 SAUSAGE SIZZLE FUNDRAISER

We are looking for volunteers to assist us with our weekly Friday lunchtime Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser during Term 2.

We require 2 parents each week for approximately 2 hours on a Friday between 11:50am – 1:50pm to cook the sausages and serve the students throughout the lunchbreak.

All money raised will go towards our Instrumental Music Program.

If anyone is interested and can assist, we’d love to hear from you.

Please contact the Music Office on 8872 6369 and we will add your name to the roster.
