Year 4 Science

So far in science this term, we have explored 3 interesting topics: Science as a Human Endeavour, Biology and Earth and Space.

Our first topic was Science as a Human Endeavour. We did an experiment to see what works the best to filter dirty water. Our options to filter the water were: Coffee paper, Paper towel and rocks. The water we filtered had garden waste and fruit skins. We managed to filter it pretty well, but the water was still slightly dirty.

The second topic we learnt about was Biology. We looked at living and non-living things. For our experiment, we went outside and collected nature from the ground, bushes and tree level of the YR 2-3 playground. We stuck the nature onto A3 piece of paper divided into a table. We also half-filled a cup with clean water and dropped in food colour. 

The water was a different colour so we placed some white flowers in the cup to see how they changed.
