Hop into some Food Tech Fun….

Festival treats have been created by the students this week.

Sometimes Food just needs to be fun…

Here’s a few of the sweet treats that our creative kids produced.

 

Carrot cake Bliss Balls

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup dried pitted dates
  • ½ cup raisins, currants or sultanas or a combination 
  • 1 ¾ cups desiccated coconut
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and grated
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg or mixed spice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Extra coconut for rolling

Method

  1. Place the dates in a heatproof bowl and cover with boiling water then leave to sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain the dates and place them in a food processor with the rest of the ingredients and blitz until the mixture comes together.
  3. Use a walnut-sized amount of mixture at a time and roll into balls then coat in coconut.
  4. Refrigerate until serving
